Eva F. Evans

March 7, 1922 — December 17, 2005

Eva F. Evans, 83, formerly of Orange, California, died Saturday, December 17, 2005 at Crest Health Care, Davenport, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 23, at Daniels Chapel of the Valley. Interment will follow at the Hillcrest Cemetery.

Mrs. Evans was born March 7, 1922 in La Grande, Oregon to Noah M. and Myrtie (Stroud) Feik. She served with the U.S. Navy during WW II. She married Marion Edward Evans, Sr. February 14, 1956 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. He died June of 1998. She was a homemaker and an avid reader. Mrs. Evans was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Los Angeles LDS Temple for many years. She worked as the secretary to the Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Utah. She also worked as the personal secretary to Elder John A. Widtsoe and Elder A. Theodore Tuttle, General Authorities of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors include daughter, Gwenith VaRee (Dan) Wall of Walla Walla, Washington; sons, Marion Edward Jr. (Mary Lou) Evans of St. George, Utah, Michael John (Marcia) Evans of Bakersfield, California, Shane Kent (Susan) Evans of Andalusia, Alabama, and Brent Lee (Caroline) Evans of Bettendorf, Iowa; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Leola Mae (George) Blake of Murray, Utah, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister and four brothers.
