Eugenia Mable Thompson

Eugenia Mable Thompson, age 83 of La Grande, died Monday, January 23, 2006 at the Grande Ronde Hospital. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Valley, 1502 7th Street, La Grande. Interment will follow at the Island City Cemetery.

Eugenia Mable Thompson was born November 3, 1922, the daughter of Cyris Lee and Doris (Allegar) Shawver in Pendleton, Oregon. Eugenia attended schools in Pendleton before moving to La Grande where she graduated with the La Grande High School class of 1941. In 1946 she married Marion Piercey, and the couple raised six children, Doris, Charlotte, Bud, Sonny, Sandy and Christy. Marion preceded her in death in 1961. Eugenia later married Le Roy Thompson in 1966, Le Roy preceded her in death in 1986.


Survivors include her children, Doris Hulse , Charlotte Bauer, Bud Piercey, Sandy Turnbull, Christy Southard, Mary Eaton, Roberta, Tammy, Becky, Vicki, Ellen Blevins, Le Roy Thompson and Robert Thompson; sister, Maydean Haydock and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed.
