Ethel Ellen Hopkins

Ethel Ellen Hopkins, 85, of La Grande, died March 19 at a care center in La Grande. At the request of the family, there will be no services. Burial will be at Haines Cemetery.

Ethel was born April 18, 1925, to Russell Blaine and Florence (Tuttle) Wallingford at Haines. She grew up in Haines, and attended Rock Creek Grade School.

She lived in Baker City from 1972 until 2005, when she moved to La Grande to be near her sons.

Ethel was a gardener. She collected salt and pepper shakers, earrings and hurricane lamps. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge.

Survivors are her two sons, Robert Hopkins of La Grande and Clinton Hopkins and his wife, Barbara, of La Grande; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Summerville Baptist Church.
