Esther "Etty" Nancy Halsey-Vowles

Esther Nancy Halsey "Etty" Vowles, age 85, of Portland and formerly of Union died August 25, 2004 at Portland Adventist Hospital. A family memorial will be held on the Oregon Coast.

Mrs. Vowles was born on April 27, 1919, to Gracen and Worth Halsey in Union. On February 14, 1941 she married Keith Warren Vowles in Lewiston, Idaho. The family lived in Ely, Reno and Carson City, Nevada before moving back to Oregon 24 years ago. She worked for Meadow Gold Dairies.

Survivors include daughters, Sandra Jo Vowles and Robyn Leigh Restel, both of Portland; a son-in-law, Daniel Syme of McGill, Nevada; sister, Elma Jean Westenskow of Canby; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren and other relatives.

Her husband, daughters, Diana Pinkerton and Candace Syme and nine brothers and sisters died earlier.
