Ervin A. Dooley, age 77, of La Grande, died Monday, June 13, 2005 at a local care facility. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 20, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Grandview Cemetery with Pastor Tim Gray of the Seventh-day Adventist Church officiating.
Mr. Dooley was born on August 16, 1927, the son of Royce and Laura (Marshall) Dooley in Diamond, Missouri. During World War II he served with the United States Navy. On February 4, 1950 he married Millicent Mabel Wilson in Florence, Arizona. After his discharge in 1952 they lived in California until 1972 when they moved to La Grande. Mr. Dooley worked as a long distance truck driver. In 1994 they moved to Beaverton to be close to family and returned to La Grande in 2002. He was a former member of the American Legion and enjoyed fishing and traveling.
Survivors include his wife, Millicent Dooley of La Grande; children, David Dooley of Union, Julia Blom of Norway and Laura Powell of La Grande; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sisters, Helen Leach of Pineville, Missouri, Judy Yousey of Bentonville, Arkansas, Phyllis Long of Joplin, Missouri and Carol Thornbrugh of Web City, Missouri; and other relatives and friends.
