Erma "Irene" Nash

October 2, 1922 — June 5, 2005

Erma Irene Nash, age 82, of La Grande died June 5, 2005 at a local care center. Viewing will be for the hour prior to the funeral, which begins at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Pendleton Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, NW 12th Street and NW Gilliam Street. A graveside service will follow at the Olney Cemetery, 865 Tutuila Road in Pendleton. Mrs. Nash was born on October 4, 1922 to Guy and Nora Mae Woody Livingston in Iberia, MO. The family moved to Twin Falls, Idaho, where she graduated from high school and attended a business college. On December 31, 1940 she married Eugene R. Nash. After moving to Pendleton she worked as the manager of the Bon Marche store and for US Bank until the couple started their own business, Nash Magnavox. They sold that business in 1976 and bought Barnum's Trading Post where she worked as a bookkeeper until her retirement in 1986.

She was a member of the LDS Church and served as Young Women's president for several and as president of the Relief Society and the Walla Walla Stake Board. Her greatest joy was her family.

Survivors include his son, Ron Nash of La Grande; siblings, Woodrow Livingston of Boise, Robert Livingston of Vancouver, Washington and Virginia Merriman of Pendleton; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and other relatives. Her husband, a daughter, Carolyn and a brother, Drex Livingston, all died earlier.
