Enid Maxine Sipp, age 91, of La Grande, died January 16, 2009 at the Grande Ronde Hospital. A graveside interment service will be held on Monday, January 26, 2009 at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Baker City at 2:00 p.m. Those who wish may make contribution in her memory to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Oregon Chapter, 104 SW Clay St. Portland, OR 97201. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center in La Grande.
Mrs. Sipp was born on January 8, 1918, the daughter of Fred and Hazel (Boyer) Ware in Hereford, Oregon. She graduated from St. Francis Academy in Baker City. On June 9, 1936 she married Max Sipp in Vancouver, Washington. He preceded her in death on March 22, 2001. She was a devoted volunteer for the Headstart Program when it was housed in the Ackerman Elementary School and she loved reading to children. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and enjoyed going out to eat and visiting old friends and old places. She liked watching the Grand Old Opry and bull riding. She loved her family dearly and loved spending time with them.
Survivors include her son, Clayton Sipp of Baker City; grandchildren, Brent and Theresa German of La Grande, Craig and Sherri Sipp of Union and Brian Sipp of Kennewick, Washington; five great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by daughter, Myrna German and daughter-in-law, Karen Sipp.
