Emily L. Fuhrman

April 10, 1920 — December 17, 2008

Emily L. Fuhrman, formerly of La Grande, died Dec. 17 at Good Samaritan Care Facility in Yakima.

She was born April 10, 1920, in Lemoore, Calif., to Claude and Marie Neal. After high school she attended Sequoia Junior College. Her early working career was in banks in that area and for the military during World War II.

She moved to La Grande with her first husband, Danny Moffit, in 1945. Later she worked for Inland Machinery and moved to Yakima with the company in 1967.

The following year she met and married Jack Fuhrman. Upon his retirement they became snowbirds, living most of each year in Niland, Calif.

She loved to travel, dance, knit, read and spend time in the swimming pool. She enjoyed visiting her children and grandchildren. She returned to Yakima to live in 1999.

She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her sister Evelyn Sarquis of California, sons Jim (Judy) Moffit of Alaska and David of Nevada, stepson Danny (Colleen) Fuhrman of Yakima and daughter-in-law Jeri Wright of Tacoma.

She is also survived by six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Norman, Russ and Reed Neal, her stepson Fred and her husbands Dallas and Jack.
