Elmer "Jud" Judson Morris

Elmer Judson "Jud" Morris, age 86, a lifetime resident of Union County, died Friday, May 9, 2003 at the Grande Ronde Hospital.


At his request there will be no public services and a family interment will be held at the Summerville Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels Chapel of the Valley.


Mr. Morris was born on September 3, 1916, the son of Story and Agnes (Meroney) Morris at the family home on Lower Cove Road, where he spent his entire life. He graduated from La Grande High School in 1938. He worked as an engineer for the Railroad and farmed the family farm.

In May of 1969 he married Irma Jones Aycock and she preceded him in death on February 12, 1990. Mr. Morris enjoyed wood cutting and spending time in the mountains.


Survivors include his children, Gregory Morris of Eugene and Dee Robert Morris of Union; step-children, Jerry Aycock of La Grande and Pam Aycock of Washington DC; three grandchildren; sisters, Lovene Case of Cove, Della Ehremburg of New Jersey and Phyllis Smith of North Powder; brother, Manford Morris of Cove; and other relatives and friends. Brothers, Mason Morris and Raymond Morris, preceded him in death.
