Ellena M. Lund

Ellena M. Lund, age 87, of La Grande died August 1, 2004 at a Portland hospital. At her request there will be no services.

Mrs. Lund was born on June 12, 1917 to Ralph and Hattie Roseman Dunham in Momence, Illinois. She married Harold Lund on his 44th Birthday on September 24, 1944 in Portland, where they lived until his death in 1976. She moved to La Grande to be close to family and lived at the Grande Ronde Retirement Residence.

She worked as a touch-up artist for portraits and worked for many years at the Patton Retirement home in Portland. She enjoyed pets, rose gardening and watching birds.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Dixie Lund of La Grande; two grandchildren; one great grandchild; and two brothers, Renold and Calvin Dunham, both of Portland. Two siblings died earlier.

Memorials may be made to the Blue Mountain Humane Association.
