Ellen M. Nicoletti

Ellen M. Nicoletti, 84, of Chubbuck, Idaho, died Jan. 31.

A celebration of life service will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Burns Mortuary Chapel in Hermiston.

Ellen was born Aug. 25, 1924, to Jossie and Edward Young in Wallowa. Ellen graduated from Flora High School. Upon graduating, she went to work for the Union Pacific Railroad. Ellen worked in Huntington, La Grande, Pendleton, then retired out of Hinkle near Hermiston in 1985 after 43 years of service.

After her retirement she went to work for Burns Mortuary in Hermiston enjoying work and the friendship of the people there.

Ellen was a lifetime member of the Union Pacific Old Timers, Hermiston Eagles Lodge, Beta Sigma Phi and Stateline Grange of Milton-Freewater.

She also belonged to the Chicken Foot Gang, Hermiston.

Ellen is survived by daughters Veta Bingman of The Dalles and Thomasina Spelman of Chubbuck, Idaho; sisters, Allie Gaines of Milton-Freewater and Joyce Price of Cove; brothers, Roy Young of Rochester, Wash., and Frank Young of Onalaska, Wash., five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Young and Jossie and Elliott Johnson; brother, Andrew; husband, Nick; daughter, Eileen; and son, Joseph.
