Ella was born on March 11, 1928 in La Grande, the only daughter of Joseph Lawrence and Charlotte (Skeen) Keown. Ella married Edwin Albert Huff on August 1, 1950 in Lewiston, Idaho. Ed and Ella were owners of a neighborhood store, H & H Grocery, which for many years was a main stay of north La Grande. Many of the students of Riveria Elementary School fondly remember "Mrs. Eddie" lovingly bandaging hundreds of children's hurts and rescuing numerous lost books for the school. In 1982 the Riveria Elementary PTA presented Ella with an award for her years of service to the children, which she proudly displayed in her home.
Ella was a member of the LDS Church and held many positions over the years including that of Ward Historian for the La Grande 4th Ward, which she truly enjoyed. Ella was also an accomplished seamstress and loved to crochet, and her grandchildren proudly wore many of her creations.
The love's of Ella's life were her grandchildren and great grandchildren and her whole world revolved around them. Since moving to Gooding, Ella has enjoyed the frequent company of her great grandchildren who often made her smile. Ella was always interested in all that they were doing, whether it was the first day of school or their first smile, she always wanted to know more.
