Elsie Komma Gray, age 85, of McMinnville and formerly of La Grande, died July 21, 2009 at her home. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 31, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Island City Cemetery.
Mrs Gray was born on October 14, 1923 in Portland, Oregon, the daughter of Walter Raymond and Dula Alice (Cook) Weatherly. On April 29, 1948 she married George Arthur Komma in Vancouver, Washington. They moved to La Grande co-owned Hub-City Lockers and Hub City Food Center which they operated until his retirement in 1977. He preceded her in death on October 28, 1985. On March 28, 1991 she married Forrest Gray in La Grande. They later moved to McMinnville.
She was a member of the La Grande First Christian Church and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She enjoyed watercolor painting and playing cards.
Survivors include her husband, Forrest Gray of McMinnville; son, Michael Komma of Minneapolis, Minnesota; step-children, Deborah Reilly of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Phil Gray of Africa and Dalhi Gray of Baltimore, Maryland; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Carol Long of McMinnville; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a son, Greg Komma and siblings Kenneth and Raymond Weatherly and Alice Kersey.
