Elaine Laurose Scott

July 24, 1936 — October 16, 2006

Elaine Laurose Scott, age 70, of Elgin died, Monday, October 16, 2006 at the Grande Ronde Hospital. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Elgin Cemetery. A potluck will follow at the Elgin Stampede Hall in Elgin.

Elaine was born on July 24, 1936, the daughter of Ivan and Elsie (Obert) Churchill in Imbler, Oregon. She attended school in Elgin and graduated with the class of 1954. On October 9, 1955 she married Wesley S. Scott in Elgin and together the couple traveled numerous times over the years as Wesley served in the United States Navy. It was in 1970 that they settled in Elgin. Elaine was very active in the VFW Auxiliary, the Elgin election board and the Elgin High School Alumni committee. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, cooking, reading, bowling, watching the television game show, Jeopardy and most of all loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Mary Scott, Marie Hanson, Sharon Baxley, James Scott all of Elgin and Helen Falconer of Orofino, Idaho; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; siblings, Wick Churchill, Cecil Churchill, Harley Churchill, Annette Howell all of Elgin, Chet Churchill of Imbler and Ardith Noyes of Summerville and other relatives and friends. Her parents, Husband, Wesley Scott, son Phillip Scott and sister Verlee Jones all preceded her in death.
