Edward David Myers

Edward David Myers, 55 of Union died at his home Feb. 5, of natural causes.

A celebration of life will begin at noon Wednesday at the Prairie Baptist in Prairie City. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Canyon City Cemetery in Canyon City.

Ed was born Jan 27, 1953, in Springfield, Mo. He grew up in Canyon City, Colo., with his adoptive family until he joined the Navy in the 1970s. He served in the Vietnam War and was proud to be an American and a veteran.

He moved to Eastern Oregon in 2003. Ed enjoyed going to church, helping people in need, building model cars, playing the piano and having coffee with his friends. He loved his do, Jazzy Toes, and was proud of his 16 years of sobriety.

Ed and his best friend, Bill, were roommates for 14 years. Those who knew them say the two of them made a great team, depending on and helping one another through each day. They say God creates special bonds for special people, and Bill was blessed to have such a friend in Ed.

Ed was preceded in death by his sister and both parents.
