Edward "Bud" Brown

November 16, 1919 — May 19, 2005

Edward Raymond "Bud" Brown, age 85 of La Grande, died Thursday, May 19, 2005. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery with Bishop Wes Rampton of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints conducting. Family and friends may call from 4 p.m until 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at Daniels Chapel of the Valley, 1502 7th Street, La Grande, Oregon.

Edward Raymond "Bud" Brown was born on November 16, 1919, the son of Walter R. and Anna (Windows) Brown in La Grande. Mr. Brown attended school in La Grande and graduated with the Class of 1939. After graduating, Edward moved to Burbank, California where he was employed with Douglas Air Craft before enlisting in the United States Army in 1942 to serve his country during World War II. Upon his honorable discharge Edward moved the Longview, Washington where he worked as a plumbers assistant for a short time before returning back to La Grande and worked several different jobs until his retirement 1982. Mr. Brown was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing and traveling.


Survivors include his two cousins, Richard Hause of Walla Walla, Washington and Evelyn Richey of La Grande; brother-in-law, R.C. "Reg" Gipson of Island City, numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. His parents and a sister, Lucille Marie Gipson all preceded him in death.
