Edna Carol Schoenberger

Edna Carol Schoenberger, age 88, of La Grande, died February 18th at the Grande Ronde Hospital. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at the Union Cemetery.

Edna was born on January 13, 1922, the daughter of Otha Clark and Ruth Cecil (Rue) Stephens in Heppner, Oregon. She married Clarence Herman Schoenberg on December 24, 1940. They ranched at Monument, Kimberly and then finally Union. She worked with the Elderly at Hot Lake when it was a nursing home. She was a volunteer at the Union County Historical Museum. Her hobbies included reading, needle work, painting and sold Avon. She liked keeping her garden and home. After the death of her husband she traveled with her son.

Survivors include her children, Carol Ann Crandell of Harper, Oregon, Georgia Lee Dearing of Texas, and Gary Schoenberger of Nyssa; eight grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, daughter, Ruth Fashing and grandson, Jerry Crandell.
