Earle W. Schofield

Earle W. Schofield, formerly of Yakima, Washington, died Saturday, August 11th at an assisted living facility in La Grande, Oregon. He was 100 Years of age.

A private burial will take place at Terrace Heights Memorial Park in Yakima. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center.

Earle was born on February 18th, 1918 in Gleed, Washington to Glenn and Eve (Lipke) Schofield. He attended Schools in Yakima and in 1938 he married Hazel Thierolf.

Earle worked as a meat cutter and was a small orchardist, raising mostly cherries. He was a hard worker but he really enjoyed orchard work. He belonged to the West Valley Bible Church in Yakima. His wife died in 1999 and in 2002 he moved to La Grande, Oregon to be near his daughter, and attended the Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include his daughter, Patricia Brooks of La Grande; grandchildren, Kim Tally and Michele and Dalk Lenderman; great grandchildren, McKenzie and Brandon Stewart and Mikaila and Everett Kleven.
Besides his parents and his wife he was also preceded in death by a brother and a sister his son, Richard Schofield and his son-in-law, Grover Brooks.
