Earl Berry, 69, formerly of Wallowa, died Nov. 25 at his home in Reliance, Wyo. His ashes will be scattered at a later date at New Fork Lake in Wyoming.
A celebration of life is planned for Sept. 25 at the Plush West Steakhouse and Saloon at Wallowa. The steakhouse opens at 2 p.m. Those who knew him are invited to bring photos and memories to share.

Earl was born Nov. 28, 1939, in Wallowa. Those who knew him say he was a compassionate but tough man who was loved by all who knew him.
Earl was born Nov. 28, 1939, to Charles and Ione (Elledge) Berry in Wallowa. Earl graduated from Wallowa High School in 1958. He joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany from 1961 through 1964. After he returned home he went to Blue Mountain Community College and received his degree in engineering.
He moved to Camas, Wash., to work in the paper mill there as a millwright.
Earl moved to Reliance to work in the coal-fired power plant at Green River, Wyo., as a millwright.
He enjoyed friends, fishing, hunting, travel and the desert. His two favorite places in Wyoming were Flaming Gorge Reservoir and New Fork Lake.
Wallowa County was one of his favorite places to come home to. He always had fun times with his relatives and friends.
He married Nedra March 11, 1989.
Survivors include his wife, Nedra; three stepchildren, Michelle, Shawna and Joe; siblings, Duane Berry and Charlene Hauser, both of Imbler; four nephews; three nieces; three step-grandsons; one step-granddaughter.; many cousins; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ione Berry; and his brother, Cleve Berry.
