Dustin Charles "Dusty" Gilchrist, 24, of Bend and formerly of Imbler, died May 15 in a motorcycle accident.
Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at Teeters Pond at the corner of Hunter Road and Woodell Lane. The family requests that casual dress be observed.
Dusty was born Sept. 17, 1984, to Charles Donald and Teresa Ann (Grams) Gilchrist in Ritzville, Wash. He went to Imbler school and graduated from there in 2003. He went to college at Central Oregon Community College and graduated in 2006 in forestry and natural resources. He went on to work for the Oregon Department of Forestry.
Since he was a small child, Dustin's life revolved around the outdoors, from fishing to hunting, trapping and riding his motorcycle. He excelled at all of these things. Dustin also enjoyed camping with friends and family. He loved being around both his family and the friends in his life.
He is survived by his parents; mother, Terrie and stepfather, Bob Teeter, of La Grande; father, Charles Gilchrist of Bend; brother, Brent Teeter; grandparents, Vivian Grams of Ritzville, Wash., Sandy Grams of Milton-Freewater, Karen and Nick Karabut of Vancouver, Chuck and Dee Gilchrist of Washtucna Don and Connie Schneider of La Grande; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
