Duane C. Witty

Duane C. Witty, age 78, of La Grande, died January 25, 2008 at his home. At his request there will be no public services. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center in La Grande.

Duane was born on June 3, 1929 in Wallowa, Oregon, the son of Clarence and Ruth (Miller) Witty. He graduated from Elgin High School with the class of 1948. He served his country with the United States Air Force from 1950 - 1954. He worked in the construction and concrete installation business for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors. On October 7, 1956 he married Juanita Masterson in Minden, Nevada. She preceded him in death on June 18, 2004.

Survivors include his children and their spouses, Steve & Tracy Witty of Cove, Sam Witty of La Grande, Cami & Keith Bebb of Portland, Christy LeFever of La Grande, Nona Rudolph or Beaverton and Teri Johnson of La Grande; thirteen grandchildren; sisters, Betty Adams of Elgin and Wanda Pennington of La Grande; and other relatives and friends.
