Dorthy Ellen Morgan

Dorthy Ellen "Dot" Morgan, age 84, a lifetime resident, died Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at a local care facility.

At her request there will be no public services. Private interment was held at the Island City Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels Chapel of the Valley.


Mrs. Morgan was born on August 30, 1918, the daughter of Andrew and Maude (Hulse) Muilenburg in La Grande. In 1937 she graduated from La Grande High School and then attended Business College. She worked as a bookkeeper for The Observer, Walker Ford and Lynch Motor Company. She was a member of the First Christian Church and a former member of the Eagles Auxiliary.


Mrs. Morgan enjoyed gardening, china painting and needlework. Her family was very important to her and she enjoyed attending family gatherings.


Survivors include her niece, Glenna Spears of Union; nephew, Bill Muilenburg of Adams; and other relatives and friends. Husbands, Melvin Loree and Charles Morgan; sisters, Mary Green, Ina Hicks, Lillian Muilenburg and Viola Muilenburg and brothers, Emil and Glen Muilenburg preceded her in death.
