Dorothy Dean Wilson

Dorothy Dean Wilson, 84, of La Grande, died Nov. 16 at the Grande Ronde Retirement Residence in La Grande.

A celebration of life will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in La Grande with lunch to follow.

Dorothy was born on April 1, 1`923, to C.D. Foster and Nellie Edith Clark in Okmulgee, Okla. She married Louis B. Wilson on April 5, 1942, in Eugene. In 1961 they moved to Pendleton, where they lived until Lou's death in 1995. Following his death, Dorothy moved to La Grande to be near her son and his family.

Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling to the beach, reading and crossword puzzles. Those who knew her say her four great-grandchildren brought endless joy into her life. She worked as the manager of the Green Stamp store in Pendleton for about three years, and worked for the Pendleton Round-up office from 1969 to 1972.

Dorothy is survived by two children, Kim Baker and her husband, Kurt, of Clackamas and Jeffrey Wilson and his wife Anita, of La Grande; two granddaughters and their husbands; sister, Frances Wolf and her husband, Larry, of Kelso, Wash., numerous nieces and nephews; and four great-grandchildren.
