Doris Smith

Doris Smith, 77, of La Grande, died Aug. 6 at a local care center.

A celebration of life will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Summerville Baptist Church.

Doris was born May 31, 1932, to Charles F. and Gladys M. (Morey) Morehead in Heppner. After attending college, she worked as an operator for GTE Telephone Co. She lived in the La Grande area most of her life, and was a member of the Summerville Baptist Church in Summerville.

She is survived by her son, Reggie Eugene Smith; daughter, Nyleen Kay Smith; sister, Delpha Hamann; three grandchildren; and one great- grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Gladys Morehead; husband, Joe Paul Smith; brothers, Robert C. Morehead and Glen C. Morehead; and a granddaughter, Brooke Ann Ragen Smith.
