Donna Norris

Donna Norris, age 72, of La Grande and formerly of Spokane, Washington and Baker City, Oregon, died January 28, 2008 at her home. A funeral will be held on Friday, February 1, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center, 1502 7th Street in La Grande.

Donna was born on August 12, 1934, the daughter of Everett and Flossie (Burgess) Norris in Vale, Oregon. She lived in various places all over eastern Oregon, including Baker City, Huntington and La Grande. She also lived for a time in Spokane, Washington where she managed a motel. She earned a special award from the Spokane Police Department for helping them with drug enforcement. She enjoyed coin and antique collecting and will be missed by her family.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Tim and Gayle Gorrell and Sherrie and Terry Gerlach, all of La Grande; brother, Rodney Norris of Columbia Falls, Montana; grandchildren, Raney E. Gerlach of Boise, Amy Gorrell of Portland and Brandon Gorrell of Seattle; great grandchildren, Cheylan Edison, Chase Briggs, Brennon Briggs and Mekenna Briggs; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two sisters and a granddaughter, Misty Dawn Edison Gerlach.
