Donald Earl Kelly, age 75, died Friday, August 13, 2004 at his home in Union. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Valley with Sally Wiens officiating. Daniels Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
Donald Earl Kelly was born on August 25, 1928, the son of Percy and Cecelia (Evenson) Kelly in Seattle, Washington. He graduated from West Seattle High School where he was an outstanding football player. Donald enlisted in the United States Army where he served his country in the Korean War. After his service to his country, he resided in Southern California for most of his life except for a short time when he moved to La Grande. He worked as a mechanic as well as a plumber before a disability prevented him from working. Donald enjoyed old cars, hunting and woodworking. He was always playing jokes on family and friends.
Survivors include his sister; Lorain Kelly of La Grande, brother Arthur F. Kelly of La Grande; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. His parents and a sister Mary Raffensberger preceded him in death.
