Don Alvin Elliott

April 2, 1940 — October 29, 2005

Don Alvin Elliott, age 65, of Elgin, died Saturday in Seattle, Washington. A funeral will begin at 11 am Monday, November 7. 2005 at Daniels Chapel of the Valley. Committal and interment will follow at the Elgin Cemetery.

Mr. Elliott was born on April 2, 1940, the son of Earl and Hazel (Rambo) Elliott in The Dalles, Oregon. The family moved to Elgin from Redmond when he was in the third grade. He graduated from Elgin High School. From May of 1963 until April of 1965 he served with the United States Army. After his honorable discharge he returned to farm and log in Union County, Eastern Oregon and Eastern Washington.

Mr. Elliott was known as a collector of many things, especially tools. He loved to help people and often shared his tools, advice and expertise with others that needed it. All small children loved him and he had a love of them and of animals, especially cats. He was known to feed the many cats that came around his home. He had a keen mind, sharp wit and dry sense of humor. He was a local history buff and loved visiting with people.

Survivors include his sisters, Neva Stevenson and Carol Hall, both of Tulare, California; one nephew; two nieces; his pet black cat and other relatives and friends.
