Don Richard Conrad, 70, of Irrigon, died Jan. 6 at his home.
A celebration of life gathering will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at the VFW Hall in Enterprise. A private family burial will be held at the Enterprise Cemetery.
Don was born Sept. 2, 1939, to Gilbert and Mariam Thompson Conrad in Enterprise. He was raised and attended school in Wallowa County.
He served in the U.S. Army and then returned to Wallowa County. Don was united in marriage to Nathiel I. "Nate" Isley Sept. 13, 1958, in Joseph. He worked for Wallowa County Grain Growers as a mechanic for several years and then as an equipment operator for the Wallowa County Road Department until retiring in 1998.
They moved to Irrigon in 2006 where they have lived since. Don was active in the Wallowa County JCs where he served at many levels including state vice president. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and traveling.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nate Conrad of Irrigon; son, Russell Conrad and his wife, Yolanda, of Island City; daughters, Debra Hansen of Irrigon and Denine Rautenstrauch and her husband, Richard, of Enterprise; stepfather, Everett Tucker of Hermiston; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Don was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Irrigon City Library or the Enterprise City Library.
