Delcie Elma Perdue

May 26, 1919 — December 27, 2005

Delcie Elma Hogeland Perdue, 86, of Unity and formerly of Elgin, died December 27, 2005 in Phoenix, Arizona. There will be no service at this time. A Celebration of Life will be announced later.

Delcie was born May 26, 1919, in Heppner to Russell and Ida (Crewdson) Hogeland, and grew up in Mount Vernon. She spent almost all of her life in Oregon and held a variety of jobs through the years. In 1961, she and her husband, Darrel Perdue, purchased the Waterhole in Unity. It was not uncommon for people from as far away as Boise or Portland to drive all the way to Unity just to have Del cook them a T-bone steak with all the fixings. In 1984 they sold the business and retired to Elgin. When Darrel died in 1995 she moved back to Unity to be closer to her friends and family.

She is survived by her daughter, Letha; four granddaughters; seven great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; four sisters, Ethel, Peggy, Viola and Nancy; brothers, Herman, Richard and Lennis; numerous nieces and nephews and many in-laws.
