Debra Ann Leitner, 55, of Imbler, died June 1 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. At the request of the family, there will be no services.
Debbie was born July 16, 1955, to Anthony Roy and Natalie Blanche (Harris) Cretty in Riverside, Calif. She was raised in California and graduated from Norta Vista High School in Riverside. She married John R. "Jack" Leitner, and they had been together for more than 24 years.
Debra's family says she was a hard worker. She was owner of D&J Critter Sitters. She loved working with animals and was certified in grooming and pet care. Debra earned her commercial driver's license and became a truck driver. She received truck-driving awards, and was certified in traffic control and Hazmat.
Debra's favorite activities were motorcycle-riding, gardening and pet care. She was an avid yard-sale shopper and collected dolphins. She was a member of the Basset Hound Rescue, PETA and the Humane Society of the United States.
Survivors are her husband, John; son, Anthony Jason Leitner of Spring Valley, Calif.; mother, Natalie Cretty; siblings, Rose Ferrell of Imbler, Shirley Cretty of Louisiana, Ralph Cretty of Riverside, Ernie Cretty of Riverside and Larry and his wife, Vona Leitner; one grandchild; two aunts and three uncles; five nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Anthony.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grande Ronde Hospice and Blue Mountain Humane Society in care of Loveland Funeral Chapel.
