David Howard Bailey

David Howard Bailey, age 73, of La Grande, died April 21, 2015 at his home. At his request there will be no public services. David was born on December 29, 1941, the son of Pryor and Zelma (Lawson) Bailey in Bristol, Tennessee. The family later moved to South Baltimore where he graduated from high school. He married Kathleen McVey on February 22, 1981. He worked as a warehouse manager for Coca Cola in Baltimore until he retired in 1998. They moved to La Grande from Baltimore after his retirement and he worked at the Elgin Boise Cascade for seven years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and spending time with family.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Bailey of La Grande; children, Brenda Houston of Baltimore, Mary Neville of Baltimore, Kathy Burnett of Baltimore, Michael Bailey of Florida, Christopher Bailey of La Grande and Michael McVey of Baker City; brothers, Bill Bailey and Pryor Bailey, both of Baltimore; seven grandchildren and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.
