Corinne "Alayne" Burns

Corinne "Alayne" Burns, age 71, of Summerville died at home on April 3, 2009. She was born on July 2, 1937, the daughter of Albert Henry and Corinne Elizabeth (Taylor) Becker in Malta, Montana. She married her husband, Larry Burns, who was an active duty United States Marine, on March 17, 1956 in Yuma, Arizona. They later made their home in Summerville.

Alayne worked as a housekeeper for many families and businesses for 35 years until retiring. She collected all kinds of skunk items and enjoyed fishing and traveling. She was very much a people person and enjoyed the people she worked for.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Larry A. Burns of Summerville; her four children, Cheryl Colwell, Karen and Mike Brooks, Jerry Burns and Terry Burns; grandchildren, Jeannie, Tony & Kora, LeAnn & Terra; great grandchildren, Jacob, Jasmine and Hunter. She was preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter, Ashley Brooks; and other relatives and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to any foundation you wish in care of Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center, 1502 7th Street in La Grande. A memorial pot luck at the Summerville Masonic Lodge will be held on April 19th from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m.
