Clinton Lee Shultz, 60, of Canby and formerly of La Grande, died Sept. 22 as a result of a house fire in Sumpter.
A memorial service begins at 1 p.m. Sept. 29 at the Ambridge Event Center in Portland. A second service begins at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Elks Club in Pendleton. Burial will be at the Island City Cemetery.
Clinton was born Dec. 28, 1947, to Marvin George Shultz and Winniefred Doris Crowly in La Grande. He attended Pendleton High School, graduating in 1966 and graduated from Eastern Oregon University with a bachelor of arts degree in 1970. He then received his masters in education from Western Oregon University in 1975.
Clinton married Judith Hodgen April 27, 1968, in Pendleton. He later married Kendra Pyle Carter Nov. 26, 1988, in Long Beach, Wash.
He was an elementary teacher in Hermiston for five years and taught the first grade at Philander Lee in Canby. He worked in senior living management for more than 20 years at Brim/Encore. Clinton was a member of the Elks Club and was a baptized and confirmed Episcopalian.
Survivors include brother, Marc Shultz of Newberg; daughters, Michelle Shultz and Heather Clarke, both of London; stepchildren, Paul Carter and Elizabeth Carter, both of Vancouver, Wash.; one grandson; and two nephews.
