Leonard Dean “Chuck” Arbogast of La Grande, died Saturday, July 8, 2023 at the age of 72

Chuck was born October 25, 1950, the son and only child of Leonard Milton and Dean Laurene (Cohoe) Arbogast in Pendleton. He was raised in a logging camp in Dale and attended school in Ukiah. After graduating with the Ukiah High School class of 1968 he attended Blue Mountain Community College where he earned an Associate degree. He spent time living in , Missouri , Wyoming and Oregon where he met Earleen (McKinney) Whitmore. They were married on January 2, 1982 in Ukiah, joining her children with his to create a family and eventually made their home in La Grande.
Chuck worked as a ranch hand but most of his working life was spent logging.
Chuck loved the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, vegetable gardening and his prized peach trees.
Surviving relatives include his mother Dean and his wife Earleen, both of La Grande children John Arbogast of Pennsylvania, Justin Arbogast of Missouri, step children Jason Whitmore of Wyoming, Charlene Way Whitmore of Boisie.
9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and numerous other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father.
