Cheryl Ann Beem, 64, lifetime resident of Elgin, died Jan. 23 at St. Luke's Hospital in Boise of complications from a long illness. Her funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Elgin Christian Church. Burial will be at Elgin Cemetery.
Cheryl was born March 13, 1946, to George and Gladys (Looker) Crouser in La Grande. She was raised in Elgin and educated there. Cheryl was a cheerleader and competed in volleyball.
She married Mike Beem and they are the parents of one son, Grant.
Cheryl enjoyed canning, dancing, working in her yard, crossword puzzles and reading. Her most favorite activity was watching her grandsons' sporting events.
Surviving are her husband, Mike; son, Grant and his wife, Andrea Beem, of Albany; brothers, Bob and his wife, Carol Crouser, and Ron Crouser of Elgin; two grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Jerry Crouser.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
