Charlotte Wert, age 63, of Summerville, Oregon and formerly of St. Helens, died June 22, 2009 at her home. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 26, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Elgin. To sign the on-line guest book visit www.danielsknopp.com.
Charlotte is survived by her husband, Ernie Wert of Summerville; son, Bill Reeds of Veneta, Oregon, daughter, Susan Wagoner of Summerville, step-son, Brian Wert of Deer Lodge, Montana, step-daughter, Elissa Sherlock of Talent, Oregon; five grandsons and other relatives and friends.
After graduating from Vale, Oregon High School she enlisted in the United States Army and served 4 years. She spent the next decade or so as a stay at home Mom. She was a devoted mother who participated in Blue Birds, 4-H, church events, and many many others that her children were involved in.
A resident of the Elgin-Summerville area for seven years, she moved here after retiring from Boise Cascade Paper Mill in St. Helens, Oregon, where she worked for 21 years.
Charlotte loved her family, gardening, shopping, traveling, reading, learning and the adventures life had to offer.
She always had an extraordinarily positive outlook in life, even when she was diagnosed and fighting cancer so in lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Oregon Cancer Society in care of Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center, 1502 7th Street, La Grande, Oregon 97850.
