Catherine Willett

Catherine Willett, age 96, of La Grande, died Monday, June 9, 2008 at the Evergreen Health and Rehabilitation Center. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 20, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center, 1502 7th Street in La Grande.

Mrs. Willett was born on April 2, 1912 on a ranch between Imbler and Summerville, the daughter of Frank and Anna (McKenzie) McKinnis. After graduating from high school she marred M.G. "Bud" Willett on October 14, 1931 in Walla Walla, Washington. They lived in the Imbler/Summerville area until 1934 when they moved to Tracy, California. She worked in Hospital food service while they lived there. They returned to the Summerville area in 1971 and later, in 1988, they moved to La Grande. Bud preceded her in death on May 1, 2004. Catherine was a member of the Rebecca Lodge in Summerville.

Survivors include her son and his wife, Gary and Linda Willett of Boise, Idaho; grandsons, Tom and Tim Allen; great grandchildren, Bradley, Kristina and Paige Allen; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by siblings, Ralph, Vina, Cecil, John, Frances and Keith.
