Carolyn Rae Vandenberg, age 40, of Imbler, died Tuesday, November 8, 2005 at her home. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 13, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Valley.
Carolyn was born on January 13th, 1965, the daughter of Frank and Geraldine Eckel in John Day, Oregon. The family later moved to Wallowa, Oregon where she graduated from Wallowa High School in 1983. On May 29th, 1990 she married Ross Vandenberg in La Grande. She worked as a CMA at Valley View Care Center and later at Grande Ronde Retirement Residence until 1996. Since that time she has helped her husband with their concrete business. Carolyn enjoyed the outdoors, camping, especially at Jubilee Lake, riding motorcycles and snowmobiles, playing bingo and going to yard sales. She also loved to spend time with her family and loved ones.
Survivors include her husband, Ross of Imbler; son, Nehemiah of Imbler and Natasha of La Grande; mother, Geraldine of Wallowa; brother, Scott of Woodland, Washington; sisters, Donna Armon of Lostine, Phyllis Doss of Fort Bragg, California, Lydia Lorimor of Spokane, Washington and Kay Suedell of Seattle, Washington; Her father, brothers, Melvin and Frank and sister, Joanne preceded her in death.
