Bonnie Marie Kearns

Bonnie Marie Kearns age 92, of La Grande, died October 28, 2013 at a local care facility. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church. To view the unedited obituary or sign the on-line guest-book visit www.danielsknopp.com.

Bonnie was born on July 22, 1921, the daughter of William Rutherford and Olive (Eveland) Rutherford in Regent, North Dakota. She graduated from Regent High School with the class of 1939. On October 26, 1945 she married James Edward Kearns in Regent, North Dakota. In 1957 they moved to La Grande. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Chapter I PEO, Knife & Fork Club and Good Sams. She was active with a bridge club for many years. She was a master seamstress and loved traveling and birding. Local musical events were very important to her and she attended them all before her health curtailed her ability to do so.

Survivors include her dauther & son-in-law, Karolyn and Bob McMillan of Pendleton; grandchildren, Andrew and Jackie McMillan, Sarah and Aaron Johnson, Michael McMillan and Jill and Jered Shaw; four great grandchildren, Jayden and Jaxson Shaw, Rylee McMillan and Jolie McMillan and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2003; her son, William "Bill" Kearns and siblings, Kelly Rutherford, Hazel Larson and Jeanette Wiseman.
