Beverly Jean Rachau, age 72, of La Grande, died Saturday, July 5, 2003 at her home.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 11, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Summerville Cemetery with Warren Curry officiating. Viewing will be held on Thursday from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Valley.
Mrs. Rachau was born on February 19, 1931, the daughter of Earl and Lucille (Giles) Powell in Baker, Oregon. In 1939 the family moved to Union and in 1949 she graduated from Union High School. On July 16, 1949 she married George Rachau in Union. He preceded her in death on September 29, 1995.
Mrs. Rachau worked as a cook and waitress for the Wheel Restaurant and the Woodshed. She loved doing crafts, spending time with her friends at Wal-Mart and was an avid "Blazer" fan. She was a good hearted person who would help anyone in need.
Survivors include her son, Jeff Rachau of La Grande; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; sisters, Marilyn Rachau of La Grande, Margaret Moss of La Grande and Bonnie Lambert of Meridian, Idaho; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Those who wish may make contributions to the Beverly Rachau Memorial Fund in care of Daniels Chapel of the Valley.
