Betty Josephine Shelton Lewis, 77, of Wallowa, died Feb. 23 in Wallowa. A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Wallowa Christian Church. A potluck lunch will follow.
She was born Sept. 30, 1932, in Glenns Ferry, Idaho. She married Roy Shelton June 21, 1952, and together they raised three children, first in the Flora area then later in Lostine. She was preceded in death by Roy in 1997.
Betty married Bob Lewis July 4, 2009. They made their home in Wallowa where they enjoyed visiting with friends at the senior center, being with their families, picking huckleberries, fishing and watching baseball.
Betty is survived by her husband, Bob; daughter, PK Shelton; sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Dana Shelton, and Skip and Cissy Shelton; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and siblings and their families, Grace Murrill and her husband, Don, Shorty Colpitts and his wife, Dot, Kenny Colpitts and his wife, Phyllis, Bobby and Kayleen Lewis, Vearl and Linda Sue Lewis, and Rod and Carmen Wickam; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy, in 1997; and by her brothers, Bob, Hap and Jimmy Bert Colpitts.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wallowa Senior Center, the Wallowa County Search and Rescue or any charity.
