Betty Maeq Eckstein-Greer

Betty Mae Eckstein-Greer, 79, of Irrigon and formerly of Elgin, died Dec. 29 at her home with family around her. At her request, there were no services.

Betty was born April 9, 1930, to Clarence and Alberta Eckstein in Elgin. She was raised in Palmer Junction and attended school there.

She married Gerald Greer in November 1949 in Portland.

Betty loved playing cards with her family. She liked bowling and played for several years in a league. She also liked shopping and taking ceramics classes.

Survivors include her children, Dale of Beavercreek, Jerry of Troutdale and Gail of Irrigon; siblings, Loren, Leland and Dallas Eckstein, all of Elgin; sisters, Thelma of Elgin and Maxine of Gladstone; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Johnny; husband, Gerald; sister, Doris; and her parents.
