Bertha 'Bertie' May Hart Proffitt

Bertha May "Bertie" Hart Proffitt, age 54, of La Grande, died August 16, 2014 at the home of her husband. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Bernie Park on Gekeler Lane from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center.

Bertie was born on July 1, 1960, the daughter of William and Roberta McDowell in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. She moved to California and lived in Sacramento where she met her future husband, Robert Proffitt, who was from La Grande. They moved to La Grande in 2001. On August 12, 2014 she married Robert. She enjoyed fishing and camping.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Proffitt of La Grande; two sons and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a daughter.
