Benny (Ben) Luse

January 15, 1948 — May 12, 2008

Benny (Ben) Luse, formerly of Elgin, passed away May 12, 2008 in Everett, Washington.

Benny was born January 15, 1948 in Portland, Oregon to Gerald and Julia Luse. The family moved to Elgin at the age of 10. At age 12 he was baptized at the Elgin Christian Church. He graduated from Elgin High School in 1966. In his pastime he enjoyed playing guitar and singing with his father. He performed as a soloist at many funerals and weddings.

While living in Elgin he worked for the State Highway department, finishing concrete on freeways and bridges with his father for many years. He also drove truck for Bowman Trucking before moving to Washington. In June of 1999 he married the love of his life Cristy Mason who remained by his side during his long and brave battle until he left this earth for his true and everlasting home.

Many that knew Ben would say his sense of humor was his finest quality, for he surely knew how to bring a smile or make people laugh. It was also his kind heart, immeasurable sense of fairness and compassion for others. Ben had an unshakable faith and love for his family. He believed his greatest gift was the gift of being a father to his two sons, a son to his mother and a husband to his wife. His love of life and strong will to live were humbling to those who knew him.

Benny is survived by his mother, Julia of Elgin, wife Cristy of Everett. Sons Jeff & Pam Luse of Post Falls, ID, Gregg & Beth Luse of Elgin. Step children Casey Wohlwend, and Arron Elder of Washington. Grandchildren Kyler, Derrick, Taylor, Andrew, Natalie, Carmen and Chloe. Numerous Aunts, Uncles, in-laws and cousins.
