Barbara "Bobbie" Jean James

Barbara Jean "Bobbie" James, age 77, of Union, passed away on September 4, 2007 at her home. A graveside committal service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the Union Cemetery on Monday, September 10th. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the tent at Buffalo Peak Golf Course.

Bobbie was born in Del Rio, Texas on May 13, 1930 to Horace W. and Lettie Ima (Woolf) Owen. On August 2, 1946 she married the love of her life, J.B. "Red" James in Springdale, Arkansas. They moved to Eastern Oregon in 1954. They raised three children together, Roger, Cindie and Chuck.

Bobbie was a very active person who loved her family, her work and her town. She enjoyed playing cards, fishing and helping those around her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She not only served on the city council for several terms but she served on many committees for the City of Union, bringing a focused mind to make the city she loved a better place for all.

Survivors include her daughter and her husband, Cindie & Bob Stacy of Boise, Idaho: son, Chuck James of both Union and Boise; daughter-in-law, Carol James Mulvany and her husband, Bruce Mulvany of Union; grandchildren, Cameron & Nikki James of Portland, Raina and Kelly Jamison of Boise, Holly and Jeremy Loew of Portland and Juli Stacy of Boise; Bob Stacy's five children and their families; great grandchildren, Ella James, Joseph James and Nathan Loew, all of Portland; sister, Mary Shriver of Union; brother, H.V. Owen of Lowell, Arkansas and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Roger and her husband, Red.
