Arlene Doretta Galloway, age 78, of Elgin, died Sunday, September 14, 2003 at a care facility in Elgin.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Elgin Cemetery with Pastor John Mc Elravy of the Elgin Christian Church officiating. Viewing will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Valley, 1502 7th Street, La Grande, Oregon.
Mrs. Galloway was born on June 27, 1925, the daughter of Howard and Myra (Tucker) Hazelwood in Elgin, Oregon. She graduated from Elgin High School in 1944 and on April 28, 1947 she married Delmar Jean Galloway in Elgin. Her family and the family farm was the center of her life, she loved the farm and spent a great deal of time in her yard with her flowers and garden. She enjoyed reading and playing solitaire. Her grandchildren were a source of much joy. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and neighbors.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Ann Galloway of Elgin; grandchildren, Crystal Galloway of Boise, Kimberly Galloway of Boise and T.J. Galloway of Elgin; sister, Shirley Cox of Albany; three nieces; one nephew; and other relatives and friends. Two brothers, Hillard and Darrell Hazelwood preceded her in death.
