Arlene Evelyn Correa, age 86, formerly of Starkey, died August 19, 2004 at her home on Big Buttercreek near Echo. Burial will be at the Echo Cemetery.
Mrs. Correa was born on November 12, 1917 to Edward and Leone Southward Nunn in Medford. She attended school in Hermiston and Echo and on September 16, 1936 she married John B. Correa in Echo. The couple ranched near Echo and at Starkey. She was a member of the Catholic Church and the Starkey Cattle and Horse Association. She enjoyed farming, ranching with her husband, canning, growing yellow roses and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, John E. Correa and Bill Lozier, both of Pendleton, Peggy Hays of Echo, Betty Thompson of Union; 18 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; and a sister, Naomi Myers of Union. Her husband, a son, Bill Correa and a sister, Ruth Hall, all died earlier.
Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Catholic Church in Echo.
