Arla Larie Bingaman, lifelong resident of the Grande Ronde Valley died Wednesday, February 08, at the Grande Ronde Hospital at the age of 86.
A celebration of her life will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 11 at the Summerville Cemetery Chapel. Viewing hours will be from 4 until 6 p.m. Friday at Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center.
Arla was born on July 13, 1925 in the family home near Summerville. She was the daughter of Ira and Hazel (West) Lanman. She attended the Pleasant Grove School, the Pumpkin Ridge School and the Imbler High School where she graduated as valedictorian of the class of 1943. On January 6, 1945 she married Howard Aaron Bingaman in La Grande. He preceded her in death on October 23, 2007.
Howard and Arla farmed in the valley. When her children were young she was active in the PTA and 4H. Her family was the primary focus of her life.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Russell and Patti Patty Bingaman of Imbler, Ross and Carrie Bingaman of Imbler and Janet and Ned Hurd of Boise; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brother Billy Bill Lanman.
