Ardythe Wood

January 30, 1940 — October 31, 2008

Ardythe Wood, 68, of Pendleton and formerly of Union, died Oct. 31 at her home.

Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel in Pendleton. Burial will follow at Olney Cemetery.

Ardythe was born Jan. 30, 1940, to O. Clephen and Elma Wilde in Union. She graduated from Union High School and in 1962 from Eastern Oregon University. She briefly taught school in California and at Washington School in Pendleton. She married Duane G. Wood in the LDS Logan Utah Temple in 1963, and they have six children and 22 grandchildren. She has been an active member of the LDS Church and served a mission with her husband in Japan from 2004 to 2006. She spent her life in the service of her family, church and community.

She is survived by her husband, Duane in Pendleton; children, Robert and Heather Wood of Portland, Michelle Wood of Beaverton, Jeff and Mary Ann Wood of Pendleton, Kimberly and Dave Nall of Middletown, Ohio, Leslie and Nathan Kerns of Boise, Melissa and Travis Stoddard of Eugene and David and Etta Wood of Hailey, Idaho; siblings, Waldo and Oneita Wilde of El Dorado, Calif., Howard and Trudy Wilde of Rockwell, N.C., LoRene Hatchett of Marion, Ill., Joyce and Don Baxter of Union, Melanie and Dennis Vest of Bountiful, Utah; and sisters-in-law, Carole Wilde of Boise, and Linda Wilde of Centerville, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Errol and Stan; and sister, Natalie.
