Anthony Daniel Swinney, age 63, of Richland and formerly of La Grande died December 2, 2005 in Kennewick. A memorial service will begin at 3 pm Friday at Einan's Funeral Home in Richland, Washington. Mr. Swinney was born June 15, 1942, in La Grande. He grew up in La Grande and Arizona and graduated from La Grande High School in 1960. He attended college and worked for the Oregon Department of Forestry and the US Forest Service.
He married Marian Ann Buren and they lived in the Tri-Cities for 34 years where he worked as an electronics technician for Gordon's TV in Richland and at Sears. After retiring, he worked for At Home Electronics. He was a member of the LDS church and was ordained as a teacher and deacon in 1959. He enjoyed his children and grandchildren, gardening, preserving food, camping, fishing, reading science fiction and looking after his pets. He could always be counted on to help in time of need.
Survivors include his wife of Kennewick; his mother, J.B. Wilson; children, Victoria A. Tatom and Marie F. Paine, and Daniel A. Swinney; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. His father, Pascall O'Roouke Swinney, his step-father, Slim Wilson and a granddaughter, Michelle Zelich, all died earlier.
